Find A Flight Pro

Do you fly frequently? Do you have any upcoming trips that you need to plan? If you do, you might discover an extension called Find A Flight Pro. If you did not seek it out specifically, perhaps it was introduced to you along with another extension or application, and if that is the case, you might not know much about the PUP (potentially unwanted program) at all. Our research team has identified this add-on as a PUP because it does not offer beneficial services, it tracks user information, and it exploits a well-known search engine to showcase sponsored content. Without a doubt, some users might find the services offered by the extension to be quite useful, and they might consider keeping it installed. This is not what our researchers recommend doing. Instead, we recommend removing Find A Flight Pro. If you have no idea as to why you should delete this seemingly normal browser assistant, continue reading.

Officially, Find A Flight Pro is introduced at findaflightpro.com, where it can be downloaded by Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer users. Google Chrome users can also download the extension, but they have to use chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/find-a-flight-pro/mdnnnbpmolflajafdbaifdginieonfoo or chrome.google.com/webstore/detail//pcfpljkkkhmpdmdokoigojljlpfegpip installers. In the past, the PUP’s installer was presented via a different link on the Chrome web store, which suggests that it has been taken down by the admins. This is not surprising at all, considering that the extension is not necessarily trustworthy or transparent. First of all, it is represented by Eightpoint Technologies Ltd., which stands behind other PUPs, including Breaking News Plus, Watch Movies Live, Easy Gaming App, and Weather Forecaster. They all look and work the same, and the only thing that changes is the list of easy-access links presented at the top of hp.hfindaflightpro.com. This is the page that changes the homepage and/or the new tab page of the browser (that depends on which browser is in use) after installation. Due to this, some people rush to delete Find A Flight Pro thinking that it is a hijacker. Although it is not a hijacker per se, it certainly is suspicious enough to be mistrusted.

Although Find A Flight Pro offers easy-access links to websites that are related to flight and trip planning (e.g., findaflight.net, expedia.com, booking.com, or hotels.com), it does not look like these links are the main feature. The dead center of hp.hfindaflightpro.com is dedicated to a search bar. If you type search keywords into it, you are redirected to Yahoo Search. Unfortunately, the results shown are modified by the PUP to promote third-party content. This might be how the creator of the extension makes money. The problem is that it is hard to say how trustworthy the added links could be. As there is a possibility that they could be untrustworthy, using the search tool overall becomes risky. Now, it is up to you to decide what kinds of risks you want to take, but if you want our advice, this is not the risk you should be taking. At the end of the day, all of the websites that are represented via hp.hfindaflightpro.com and Find A Flight Pro can be accessed via any browser, and you can even bookmark them if you want to access them directly from your homepage. If you do not delete the PUP, it will continue collecting data about you and your browsing activity, and this data will be used by undisclosed parties.

Since not much is offered by Find A Flight Pro, it should not be hard to decide whether or not you want to remove this suspicious extension. If you decide to eliminate this PUP, you have two options. You can erase it yourself, using the guide below, or you can employ anti-malware software to delete it from the affected browser automatically. We strongly recommend installing anti-malware software because even though deleting Find A Flight Pro manually is not a complicated process, other PUPs or even threats could exist, and your operating system, in general, could be vulnerable. A PUP is not the worst invader that you could face, and this might be the perfect opportunity to implement software that could ensure full-time protection in the future. Of course, you also need to be more cautious about what kinds of extensions you download in the future.
