Csgo RansomwareCsgo Ransomware is not your average ransomware infection, and it seems to have been created to serve as a prank rather than a real threat to your Windows operating system. At the time of research, the infection could not encrypt any files, which is something that most infections of this kind do. According to the information offered by the threat, “BeaverSquad group of professional coders” is responsible for the attack; however, there is no way to track down the real creators of this malware. Also, it is unlikely that real “professionals” have any part in this because the ransomware is coded rather primitively and poorly. We have also found that this strange threat is quite similar to another infection, Pubg Ransomware that, of course, requires removal as well. This infection does not actually demand a ransom in return for a decryption key. Instead, it orders to play one hour of a well-known game called “PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.” The infection discussed in this report orders to play “Counterstrike: Global Offensive.” Of course, instead of doing that, you should be trying to figure out how to remove Csgo Ransomware. Although this joke of a ransomware may seem harmless, you need to delete it before the attackers behind it use it in a malicious manner. Clearly, they have some skills and knowledge; otherwise, you would not be dealing with Csgo Ransomware right now. So, how did it enter your Windows operating system? If you have no idea, it is possible that it could have been dropped by another malicious threat (e.g., a clandestine Trojan), or it could have been concealed from you within a malicious software bundle. It is hard to discuss the distribution of ransomware because there are so many different methods that virtual attackers can employ. When a ransomware slithers in, it usually starts encrypting or deleting files, but that does not happen with Csgo Ransomware. In fact, our analysis has shown that the only thing this malware can do is show a window with a timer and a search tool for a process called “csgo,” which, of course, represents the “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” game. The malicious ransomware does not infect the file or do anything else that would be warranted as malicious; however, underestimating it would be a mistake. According to our research team, Csgo Ransomware does not create any files or registries, which means that it operates from its original {unknown name}.exe file that was used to unleash the infection. The lack of functionality and real purpose indicates that this malware was not created with big goals in mind. In fact, our research team is doubtful that this malware is actually spread at all. Of course, this strange infection is real, and we cannot ignore it. Ultimately, we hope that it does not see the world outside of malware researchers’ systems, and we hope that it does not get an upgrade. Needless to say, if it does, and if it becomes much more dangerous, we will quickly update this removal guide. For now, Csgo Ransomware seems like a threat that should not create any problems for anyone. Nevertheless, as we discussed already, deleting this infection is important, and the sooner you take care of that, the better. You need to know where the launcher file of Csgo Ransomware is for you to be able to remove this malicious infection manually. If you cannot identify and eliminate this file, you have to find an alternative solution, and we suggest going with anti-malware software. You must be cautious and smart when it comes to installing this software because there are plenty of tools that cannot live up to your expectations. If you install the right tool, you will have Csgo Ransomware deleted automatically, and if other threats exist, they will be erased at the same time as well. What is best is that your operating system will also gain full-time protection, which you obviously need if you want to keep malicious infection away from your operating system in the future.
