My System Mechanic

My System Mechanic is a new PC optimization tool that shares similarities with software analyzed by specialists at pcthreat.com in the past, for example, SystemKeeperPro, System Healer, and SystemBoosterPro. It works both as a registry and startup cleaner. Well, at least it has such a description on its official website. Additionally, it promises to find and delete malicious items. Generally speaking, it is promoted as a tool that can improve the overall computer’s performance. Because of this, we are sure there are users who willingly install this program on their computers. Of course, the chances are high that not all of them know why they have it installed on their systems because it might travel bundled and thus enter computers unnoticed. It is one of the reasons it has been classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). If you do not know anything about its installation as well, it must have been installed on your computer without your permission. In such a case, you should not even think about keeping it installed. You should delete it today also if you have installed it yourself but do not like how it works. Read this report till the end to find out how you can delete this potentially unwanted program from your system.

After users download My System Mechanic from http://epcbooster.com/ and install it on their computers, it goes to scan their systems right away and then lists all issues that need to be fixed ASAP. Specifically speaking, it finds malicious components, items that impact the system’s performance, items that impact the system and software installed, and items that impact the startup time and user space. Unfortunately, the trial version of My System Mechanic cannot remove any of them. If you click the Start Repair button after the scan, you will be told that you need to upgrade this program. At the time of writing, the price of the license was 29.95 EUR, but it might vary in different regions. It is up to you whether or not to upgrade it, but if you want to hear our opinion, we do not think that it is a very good idea to purchase the license of a potentially unwanted program. We are sure you could acquire another more trustworthy PC optimization tool for the same/similar price if you decide not to invest in My System Mechanic. If you are not going to upgrade this program, you should not keep it installed on your computer either because it starts automatically with the Windows OS. Also, research has shown that it shows annoying notifications to users periodically in order to push them into upgrading the program and fixing issues right away.

Our researchers say that many users download My System Mechanic from its official website http://epcbooster.com/; however, some people do not know anything about its installation on their computers, which suggests that it might be able to slither onto users’ computers without their knowledge too. It is very likely that it can come bundled with similar applications. You should always carefully install new software on your computer so that you could notice these additional offers. All kinds of threats can be spread bundled, for example, browser hijackers, advertising-supported applications, potentially unwanted programs, etc., so you should be more cautious from this moment on if you do not want to find new untrustworthy software on your computer. Being careful during the installation of new applications is not always enough to prevent bad software from slithering onto the computer, so our security specialists also recommend installing security software on all computers connected to the Internet.

If you do not know anything about the installation of My System Mechanic, you should remove it immediately. Also, there is no point in keeping it installed on the system if you are not going to upgrade it, i.e. purchase its license. Luckily, it belongs to the group of potentially unwanted programs. That is, it is not real malicious software. Because of this, you should be able to delete it through Control Panel. If you have never deleted any program yourself before and two words “Control Panel” do not tell you much, you should follow our step-by-step instructions located below this report. Alternatively, you can acquire an antimalware tool and use it to delete all untrustworthy programs/malicious components from your system easier and quicker.
