Wise XmrigWise Xmrig was classified as a Trojan-type computer infection because it can enter your PC via software bundles and secretly utilize your computer’s resources to mine cryptocurrency. As a result of mining it, your computer’s performance will decrease, and your electricity bills might go up because this process is very power intensive. Nevertheless, it depends on the type of computer you have. Therefore, we recommend that you remove this Trojan as soon as possible because it will only slow down your PC and make money of mining and then trade cryptocurrency at your expense. For more details on this software, please read this whole article. Like almost all cryptocurrency miners, Wise Xmrig is known to be distributed using bundled software installers. These installers can be featured on lesser-known, poor-reputation freeware distributing websites that bundle free third-party software with Trojans, adware, browser hijacker, and potentially unwanted programs. The installers could be configured to install the additional software secretly and, in the case of Wise Xmrig, we are certain that it is installed secretly as the distributers cannot disguise it as a legitimate application. This cryptocurrency miner does not have a graphical user interface window, and it runs in the background. You can find out if your PC has become infected with it by going to Task Manager. Look for “winserv.exe” with the description "WindowsHub" or "AudioHD.exe" with the description "XMRIG." This is the main executable that uses your computer’s CPU resources to min cryptocurrency. According to our research, Wise Xmrig is aMonero (XMR) CPU miner that has full Windows support. It was originally based on cpuminer-multi, but it has been optimized, and many parts of its code were rewritten. The current version was written in C++. While this Trojan is known as a CPU miner, our research suggests that there might be an NVIDIA GPU and AMD GPU miner versions. Wise Xmrig has many features that include x86/x64 support, support for backup (failover) mining server, keepalived support, command line options compatible with cpuminer, CryptoNight-Lite support for AEON, Smart automatic CPU configuration, and Nicehash support. All of these features mean that a lot of time has been put into developing this Trojan, so it is quite sophisticated. However, like all cryptocurrency miners, Wise Xmrig uses your CPU are an extended time on full load which can increase the temperature and your PC might not be able to handle that especially if the cooling system is insufficient. Also, such abuse of the CPU can lead to it breaking prematurely. It is also worth mentioning that this miner can increase your electricity bills especially if your CPU requires a lot of power. Meanwhile, Wise Xmrig’s developers make money at your expense which is unfair. Therefore, we recommend that you remove Wise Xmrig from your PC as soon as the opportunity arises. It offers nothing of value and can only damage your CPU and increase your electricity bills. This Trojan can be dropped in a random location on your PC. Therefore, you can go to Task Manager to find the location of winserv.exe or AudioHD.exe, go to it and delete them directly. Alternatively, you can get an anti-malware program such as SpyHunter to detect for you so that you could delete the executable manually. Removal Guide
