Project34 Ransomware

Project34 Ransomware is a new danger that may slither onto your system and encrypt your files without your knowledge. Although this vicious ransomware program appears to target Russian speaking countries as its ransom note is in Russian, it also seems that these criminals are not native speakers. Therefore, it is also possible that this threat hits other countries, too, as confirmed by our research that shows that other users have also been attacked in the past month. We believe that these crooks are responsible for dozens of other major threats that have flooded the web in the past year. Since you may lose most of your personal files in this ugly attack, we suggest that you make sure that this cannot happen in the future. For example, you need to start making regular backups onto a portable drive if you have not done so yet. Right now, this could be your only hope for saving your precious files. If you want to protect your system and recover your security, we recommend that you remove Project34 Ransomware immediately even if it means losing your files. Of course, this is all up to you. However, you should know that by transferring the ransom fee, you are risking losing your money, too. Before we reveal how you can delete Project34 Ransomware from your computer, let us tell you in more detail how this major threat can show up on your system and how you can prevent such a nightmare from happening.

Our tests and user reports indicate that this ransomware could be mainly spread in spamming campaigns. If you are inexperienced, you may believe that your spam filter can weed out all spams with 100% certainty. Unfortunately, this is not so, and cyber criminals are always at least one step ahead and can come up with tactics to evade detection by spam filters. You may not even realize at first sight that you are dealing with a fake e-mail since the sender name and e-mail address may appear to be totally authentic. Once this spam does not raise your suspicion at this step, the subject matter can really be convincing enough for you to want to open the mail. If you can recall opening an allegedly unsettled invoice or a kind of booking (hotel or flight) recently, it is quite likely that it was the one that infected your computer with Project34 Ransomware. What you should remember in the case of ransomware attacks is that once you launch the attached file, you cannot delete Project34 Ransomware and any other working ransomware programs without the possibility of the loss of your files. That is why you need to learn about prevention so that you can avoid similarly devastating attacks.

This ransomware infection seems to use the AES-256 encryption algorithm, which is part of the Windows system and thus makes the whole process of encryption rather fast. In a few minutes all your photos, documents, videos, and archives may be encrypted, which means that you cannot access, use, or view them any longer. All the infected files get a new ".project34@india.com" extension. This threat should drop a ransom note file that is in Russian language and called "пароль.txt." This note contains information about how you are supposed to get your files back. You need to write an e-mail and send it to "project34@india.com," and the authors will reply within 20 hours. You are also asked to send your IP address, which is quite dangerous because these cyber criminals may be able use this personal information for further malicious attacks. It is advised that you check your IP address through 2ip.ru, which is a known gateway for infected downloads; thus, we do not recommend trying it. We cannot confirm the amount of money you have to pay to recover your files, but it could be anything from 10 up to 1,000 dollars worth of Bitcoins. Nevertheless, we highly recommend that you delete Project34 Ransomware right away.

The truth is that it may be easier to remove this major threat from your system than you might think. All you really need to do is locate the malicious file or any suspicious files you have downloaded and launched recently and delete them. If you feel ready, you can try to follow our guide below. In order to lower the vulnerability of your system to potential malware attacks, we suggest that you keep all your programs and drivers updated. It is also important that you are more careful when opening e-mails and attachments. Yet, the best protection you can give to your PC is definitely an automated security tool like SpyHunter. Keep in mind though that even such an anti-malware program needs regular updating for best results at protecting your computer.
