Trojan Swizzor

Trojan Swizzor is a generic name for family of Trojans which can be distributed among computer users with other software, like various media players or BitTorrent optimization tools. In general, Trojan Swizzor is a parasite which works by downloading and executing files from the Internet on the affected computer. It can be very dangerous, because the programs it might download can make an attempt on your banking and personal information, because most of the type the hackers who develop various types of malware aim for your money.

Needless to say that Trojan Swizzor can do all that without the user’s knowledge or consent. The usual size of the Trojan installer file ranges from 200 to 600kB, but the damage it can bring along is a lot greater. The usual symptoms of Trojan Swizzor infection include high CPU usage, when the computer constantly freezes and the processes slow down. Also, internet bandwidth decreases and the user suffers from slow internet connection.

Some versions of Trojan Swizzor once launched run iexplore.exe (the Internet Explorer browser) and then hide its window. Then it meddles with the memory space of the browser by injecting its code and data, which as a result creates two remote threats in Internet Explorer. The code that Trojan Swizzor injects is used later on to send out signals over the network and download more Trojans onto the system. This parasite can also display a lot of advertisements from various websites, and create shortcuts on your desktop, which might have adware-related names. These shortcuts link the user to various websites of malicious content, and do not be surprised to find the links to these websites in your browser’s bookmarks – Trojan Swizzor can do that too.

As the infection continues, eventually the Trojan can generate this message:

CiD: An important update is available to your CiD sponsor software and must be run as administrator.
Please press 'YES' to proceed. If you press 'NO' you will be reminded again in a few hours. If instead you prefer to remove the sponsor software, download and run this universal uninstaller:
http://cid[removed].com/uninstall.exe

If you follow the given link, you will only download more Trojans, which would jeopardize your computer security and the safety of your privacy. That is why you need to remove Trojan Swizzor from your system, even if this parasite does not seem too dangerous at first. The truth is that it can lead to many serious infections, so you need to deal with it as soon as you can.
