- Annoying Pop-up's
- Shows commercial adverts
- Connects to the internet without permission
DealSquibDealSquib is an unreliable application that is supposed to share best deals and coupons with you while you are shopping online, as you may assume from its name. Unfortunately, you cannot really trust anything shown by this browser application because it may simply start showing you potentially unsafe third-party advertisements through coupons, best offers, and pop-up ads. Therefore, we have labeled it as an adware application. This is a free extension that is only compatible with Google Chrome. We have found that its main goal is most probably not saving you money on your shoppings, but, instead, exposing you to affiliated third parties’ commercials and their websites through the ads. You need to know that if you keep this extension in your browser, you may be introduced to unreliable web content. This can result in a number of unfortunate ways. For example, you may infect your computer with more malware threats. All in all, it is important that you remove DealSquib if you want to protect your PC. We have provided solutions for you at the end of this article, but let us tell you now in more details why this adware may be risky to have on board. This adware seems to be most popular in the USA with 88.5% of visitors located in the States. But it is also spreading in Germany and Israel as the statistics show. However, this should not mislead you into thinking that you cannot get infected with it in Kuala Lumpur, for instance. The chance that you end up on the supposedly official site (dealsquib.com) and download this tool there is rather slim. As a matter of fact, it is closer to “none” as there is no download button or link that would enable you to do so. What’s more, there is no promotional information whatsoever on this site. So you may wonder what is there then. You will not guess this: Samsung Galaxy 5 promotions. Even if you type this URL in the address bar of your browser, you will be redirected to a subpage with this Samsung promotion. It is possible that this changes with time. However, there is no menu or any navigational possibilities to find anything useful there. Instead, you can download this extension from the Chrome web store at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dealsquib/jedfgmkjgeppjdlhndondidnbolgbeab. We have discovered that this adware is not even the only DealSquib extension that you may encounter on your computer. It also has a “brother,” which is in fact a search engine extension and you can find it at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dealsquib/dloifijajdedggmbbaiijfenkooioejo. As a matter of fact, rather few people have installed these tools through this channel as the numbers show. It is more likely that they have downloaded this adware and this other extension through freeware bundles. You can find such malicious software packages mostly on suspicious P2P websites, such as torrent, freeware, and even pornography-related websites. These pages host tons of unsafe third-party content, which may well be advertisements posing as next-page or download buttons. If you land on a page that has more than one download buttons, you should be careful; it is possible that one of them is a legitimate button, but on these pages it is more likely that all of them can trigger the download of an infectious bundle. Clicking on anything on these sites could actually end with such a bundle landing on your computer. That is why we recommend that you only download software and free products from official sources. If you want to make sure that you are safe in your virtual world, we advise you to delete DealSquib and run a reliable malware scanner to detect all the malware threats present. Leaving any of these infections on board could lead to more infections and more exposure to unsafe web content and thus cyber criminals as well. We have found that this adware is hosted on an IP address (23.101.169.175) that is physically located in Chicago, Illinois. This application is very annoying since it starts displaying coupons and pop-up ads when you are visiting online shops. However, it may not show you the best deals available at all as promised, instead, it may promote third parties. Of course, this is its main goal. This is how it can generate income for its creators – by rerouting web traffic to affiliated websites. However, nobody can guarantee the reliability of those sites and the people behind them. Therefore, it is also possible that cyber criminals pose as third parties. Since this adware may also spy on you and gather information about your online habits, you could be targeted with relevant advertisements. These increase the chance that you will actually click on them. But we would like advise you against it. Since there is a chance of landing on malicious websites through these ads, we suggest that you remove DealSquib ASAP. It is not a big deal to eliminate this annoying malware infection even though it has no working uninstaller. Since it only affects Google Chrome, you simply need to get rid of the extension through the browser settings. It is possible that your computer has been infected with both of the DealSquib extensions, so make sure that you delete both. Another option would be the manual method, which mainly means cleaning up folders and files by hand. If you are more experienced and would like to see behind the veils, this might be more interesting for you. But, if you are looking for an effective way to tackle all the infections on your computer with the click of a button, we advise you to download and install a decent anti-malware program that will also protect your PC from further invasions.
