Money Viking

Money Viking is a suspicious, advertising-supported program that users are introduced to via what appears to be an official web page, moneyviking.net. It seems that this page has not been fully developed yet, or its creators had no intention of making it a functional tool. This page does not offer an installer, and the “Info” section is empty. The only useful thing about this site is that it provides full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use statements. Have you analyzed these documents already? If you have, you must know that Money Viking can collect certain information about you and your activity. Considering that most online services track some kind of information, you might not be alarmed that this adware can track data about you as well. Unfortunately, there is always a reason to be worried. If you are not careful, unfamiliar parties could utilize the data collected in an undesirable manner. You can learn more about this, as well as the removal of Money Viking, by reading this report.

According to our research, Injekt engine was employed for the development of Money Viking. This engine has been employed by the creators of Bronze Aid, Discovery App, High Stairs, Wander Burst, and a ton of other suspicious ad-supported programs that also deserve removal. We suggest deleting all of these programs for a few simple reasons. First of all, these programs are intrusive and can spy on your virtual activity. Second of all, they are not effective at providing you with beneficial services. In our eyes, Money Viking – and any of its clones – is a completely worthless piece of software that is best to have removed as soon as possible. The signature of Magic Walk is linked to the files of Money Viking, and it is likely that this is the company that has created this suspicious application. If it has been installed onto your computer, you are likely to find it under %PROGRAMFILES%/%PROGRAMFILES(x86)%. You can choose to delete the files found in the Money Viking folder; however, there is an easier way around this.

Once installed, Money Viking adds itself to the Registry. {F83D1872-D9FF-47F8-B5A0-49CC51E24EE8} is a CLSID that should be located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID. This ID number identifies Injekt and SuperWeb adware. {085A374E-5218-4F48-A95F-353B3F2E2E4A} is a unique ID number that is solely associated with the Money Viking application, and you can find it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface. It is notable that other IDs could be used as well.

Moneyviking-a.akamaihd.net and hdapp1008-a.akamaihd.net are the servers that Money Viking connects to in order to aid the functionality of advertising. These servers do not host ads, and the app has to connect to adware servers separately to start injecting advertisements. These ads will appear on every page that you visit, and we do not recommend interacting with them. The text, graphics, and other interactive content displayed by Money Viking are meant to boost traffic to certain third-party websites, and we cannot guarantee that all of them will be reliable. What is more, third parties could install their own tracking cookies to spy on you, and we do not think that this is something that you should dismiss. On the contrary, the interference of unknown parties is another good reason to remove Money Viking from your browsers (Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox).

Since Money Viking is most likely to enter your operating system packaged with third-party software, we strongly recommend scanning your PC to see which other programs were installed. If legitimate, authentic programs were installed, you will not be informed about them. However, if malicious software was installed, a trusted malware scanner will let you know if you need to delete it. You can skip this step entirely by installing an automated malware remover that will inspect your PC and delete all threats instantaneously. Although we do not want to discourage anyone from performing manual removal, you need to think carefully whether or not you can delete Money Viking yourself. If you are inexperienced, you might want to look for alternatives, such as automated malware removal software. If you think you are ready for anything, uninstall the unwanted program first, and then delete its leftovers.
