Guardbox is supposed to protect you from malicious programs, phishing attacks, and fraud. On top of that, this program promises to enhance your browsing experience. If you have focused on these promises, it is no wonder you have downloaded this program onto you Windows operating system. Unfortunately, this report will not give you the “peace of mind” Guardbox promises to provide. Guardbox.net is the website promoting Guardbox. Unfortunately, this potentially unwanted program could be spread by third-party installers as well. We identify Guardbox as a potentially unwanted program because it promises to work in one way, but ends up acting differently. According to our researchers, this PUP shows advertisements, which is why some users delete it as an advertising-supported program. Furthermore, it can install cookies to spy on you, which, consequently, could be used when introducing you to misleading ads. Although we cannot claim whether or not Guardbox will expose you to malicious advertisements, you cannot dismiss the potential of this happening. Delete from Google Chrome:

1. Open the browser and simultaneously tap Alt+F.
2. Select More Tools and click Extensions.
3. Click the trash icon ad select Remove.
4. Restart your browser and tap Alt+F again.
5. Navigate to the On Startup section.
6. Select Open a specific page or set of pages.
7. Click Set pages and see if it remains hijacked.
8. Remove/edit the URL, click OK, and restart the browser.

Delete from Mozilla Firefox:

1. Open the browser and simultaneously tap Ctrl+Shift+A.
2. In the Add-ons Manager menu move to Extensions.
3. Remove the undesirable extension and restart the browser.
4. Simultaneously tap Alt+T and select Options.
5. Move to the General menu and see if the Home Page remains hijacked.
6. Remove/overwrite the URL, click OK, and restart Firefox.

Delete from Internet Explorer:

1. Open the browser and simultaneously tap Alt+T.
2. Select Manage Add-ons and click Toolbars and Extensions.
3. Disable the undesirable add-on and restart the browser.
4. Simultaneously tap Alt+T and select Internet options.
5. Click the General and see if the Home Page remains hijacked.
6. Remove/overwrite the URL, click OK, and restart the browser.
