MPlayerX is classified as an adware program, even though it is promoted as a multi-functional player that allows you to play all types of media files on your Mac computer. Unfortunately, we do not recommend keeping MPlayerX on your system. This application is known to display third-party advertisements that do not allow you to operate your computer properly. In the long term, the ads may also expose you to potentially corrupted content. Therefore, it is in your best interests to remove MPlayerX from your computer as soon as possible. The official homepage for MPlayerX is located at mplayer.org. The website provides you with the most basic information on this application, and you can download the application there as well. Users are often lured into downloading MPlayerX, rapt by its innovative features. For example, MPlayerX says that it no longer needs bothersome keyboard shortcuts. The information provided on the website claims that you can control the playback with “pinch, tap or swipe.” In other words, the keyboard shortcuts and mouse cursor are no longer necessary because MPlayerX “will follow your gestures.”

The question is, however, whether MPlayerX is really useful enough to tolerate all of its sideline features. Why would you use a player that displays commercial ads when you can have one without them? We believe that it would be for the best to remove MPlayerX from your computer and then scan it with a legitimate antispyware application.

2. Go to the Applications folder and find MPlayerX.
