If you have downloaded HomeTab and installed it onto your PC, you should be extremely careful because this application is not completely innocent. First of all, it will probably change your homepage and your search engine to search.hometab.com if you do not un-tick the box prior the installation and secondly, you might be provided with sponsored links if you use this search engine. HomeTab works on three the most popular browsers which are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. Besides, you will be able to connect your mobile phone with your PC; thus, HomeTab application is compatible with Android operating system as well. Once HomeTab gets on the system, it changes your default homepage and search engine. You will not be able to restore them unless you get rid of HomeTab itself. There is no guarantee that you will be provided with fair search results; thus, you might get to corrupted websites. Actually, this is the main reason why HomeTab looks rather suspicious. What is more, there is a possibility that this application is also distributed together with additional software; thus, if you have not downloaded it consciously, you should remove it together with other additional programs as soon as possible.

How to remove HomeTab

Windows XP

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Select Add or Remove Programs.
4. Click on the useless application and select Remove.

Windows 7 and Vista

1. Click the Start button to open the menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Click Uninstall a program.
4. Right-click on HomeTab and then select Uninstall.

Windows 8

1. Access the Metro UI menu.
2. Start typing “Control Panel” and then select it.
3. Click Uninstall a program.
4. Right-click on the software and select Uninstall.

Internet Explorer

1. Launch your browser and then tap Alt+T.
2. Select Manage Add-ons.
3. Select Search Providers from the menu on the left.
4. Select a new search provider and click Set as default.
5. Select the unwanted search engine and click Remove.
6. Press Alt+T again and select Internet Options.
7. Under the General tab, type in your homepage URL and click OK.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Launch your browser and then locate search provider icon in the top-right part of the screen.
2. Click on the search provider icon and select a new search provider.
3. 3. Click on the search provider icon again and go to Manage Search Engines…
4. Select the search engine that you do not want to keep on your PC and click Remove.
5. Press Alt+T and move to Options.
6. Click on the General tab and enter homepage address near the Home Page. Click OK.

Google Chrome

1. Open your browser and press Alt+F.
2. Select Settings.
3. In On startup, mark open a specific page or set of pages.
4. Click Set pages.
5. Enter a new homepage URL and click OK.
6. Scroll down and select Manage search engines…
7. Select a search engine and click Make default.
8. Locate the unwanted search provider and then Click X.
