Adware.DownloadTerms

Adware.DownloadTerms, better known as DownloadTerms 1.0 is an adware program in a form of a toolbar. At first glance, it looks like a legitimate program. However, if you were seeking its download yourself you must have noticed how low it is ranked in the websites providing it.

That is because this extension is not the least bit helpful and can actually introduce your system to some dangerous infections. If you have this toolbar installed on your computer, the best that you can do to ensure your safety is remove DownloadTerms immediately.

It is entirely possible that this program has entered your system without your actual consent. That could have happened if it was bundled with freeware or shareware downloads, attached to a spam e-mail or brought in by another infection.

When Adware.DownloadTerms has already gains access to a computer, it proceeds to pursue its purpose, which is making money out of advertising. 3. MONITORING AND RECORDING THE DOMAIN NAME OF EACH PAGE YOU VIEW, THE ADVERTISEMENTS THAT APPEAR ON THESE PAGES, AND THE ADVERTISEMENTS THAT YOU CLICK

Another thing that is very alarming about the privacy is that their Privacy Policy cannot be located by the address provided in their EULA. All it shows are the two words in plain text “Privacy Policy”. Clearly, that does not make for trustworthy developers.

They state that the information they collect on you is “subject to” the aforementioned Privacy Policy, however, their reluctance to actually display it suggests that third parties may be involved and that the data may be shared. To ensure that does not happen, you should delete Adware.DownloadTerms.

The facts on the DownloadTerms toolbar prove that this is a program you absolutely cannot afford to trust. Such programs have been known to introduce dangerous infections to computers and otherwise damage the systems.

While it should be fairly uncomplicated to remove DownloadTerms, you should note that if you are facing unexpected problems while attempting to do that, your system could already be infected with dangerous threats. How to delete Adware.DownloadTerms

Windows 8

1. Open Metro UI screen.
2. Right click DownloadTerms.
3. At the bottom of the screen, click Uninstall.
4. “Programs and Features” will pop up.
5. Select DownloadTerms again.
6. Click Uninstall above the list of the programs.

Windows Vista/7

1. Click Start.
2. Go to Control Panel.
3. Select Uninstall a program.
4. Click on DownloadTerms.
5. Click Uninstall button above the programs displayed.

Windows XP

1. Press Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Add or remove programs.
4. Select DownloadTerms.
5. Press Uninstall which is above all the programs.

If the extension is still in your Internet browser, you will need to remove it manually following the instructions below:

Internet Explorer:

1. Click Alt+T.
2. Select Manage Add-ons.
3. Under Toolbars and Extensions tab, select and remove DownloadTerms.

Mozilla Firefox:

1. Click Alt+T.
2. Select Add-ons.
3. Choose and delete DownloadTerms.

Google Chrome:

1. Click Alt+F.
2. Click Settings.
3. On the left, click Extensions.
4. Delete DownloadTerms by clicking the bin button on its right.
