Virus.Leebased

Even though Virus.Leebased is called a "virus", it is actually a mass-mailing worm. In general, mailing worms and viruses delivered via email are similar, but the difference with Virus.Leebased is that it does not infect any system file, because it already comes with a malicious code within it. In order to protect yourself from such threats as Virus.Leebased you should be performing regular system scans, because just like the mailing worm in question, there are a lot of infections that do not expose themselves to the user. Therefore, Virus.Leebased might be "working" in your system for quite some time before you notice you have been infected.

One thing you have to realize, though, is that Virus.Leebased can distribute itself further on, so your computer becomes a sort of a transit station between one infection and another. And since Virus.Leebased uses its own email engine, no matter how many copies of the malicious code it sends out, you will not be able to see any record of it in your outbox. A word of caution - despite the fact that Virus.Leebased does not infect your system files, it is still a very dangerous infection, because it uses your bandwidth and little by little slows down your system.

Not to mention that it sends itself out to all the email addresses it finds on your computer. So if you don't take care of this infection in time, you become responsible for further infections albeit indirectly. And since Virus.Leebased is a MASS mailing worm, when it sends itself out, it overwhelms the servers. If you want to fix your system performance and get your computer back to normal you need to remove Virus.Leebased immediately.
