Trojan.Evadiped.A

Trojan.Evadiped.A is an insidious Trojan with browser hijacking capabilities, using a browser helper object to deliver advertisements, gather private data about the user and to redirect the user to certain websites against his will. Trojan.Evadiped.A will enter the system surreptitiously, and will remain hidden from the user’s attentions by performing its actions in the background.

Once Trojan.Evadiped.A enters the system it will drop the following file:

lib.dll

After the file is executed the system’s registry will be modified so that it can execute the dropped component when the user’s Internet browser is launched. The Trojan will subsequently be launched each time the user connects to the Internet, and will record his activity, gather data and spam him with various rubbish ads.

Trojan.Evadiped.A also operates under various aliases, one of which is

TROJ_EXEBOT.SM

This Trojan was first discovered on October 26 2010, and has been updated by its developers multiple times since its initial distribution. This threat poses a severe threat to the PC's security and safety, as it is capable of logging the user's keystrokes and relaying the info to its developers. Info that is at risk of being stolen include usernames, passwords and financial information.

What is more, Trojan.Evadiped.A will give its developers complete access to the infected PC, which who ultimately use the system for criminal and nefarious activities such as launching mass spamming campaigns, and DoS attacks. This will be done without the user's consent or permission.
