HackTool:Win32/Fgdump

HackTool:Win32/Fgdump is a malicious remote administration hack tool used to write files to a remote computer, in a specified share or directory. It is also known by other names, including Tool.Pwdump.82, PWCrack-Pwdump and Trojan.Win32.Generic.521A8E67.

This threat is able to infiltrate the PC completely unawares to the user, and will root itself in the system without calling any attention to itself. Once HackTool:Win32/Fgdump is securely rooted in the system, it will manually connect to the Internet without the user’s permission and communicate with its authors. It does not have any associable symptoms that the user will be able to discern from, and the user will remain completely unaware of HackTool:Win32/Fgdump’s presence unless installed security software on the system reports it and brings it to the attention of the user.

The following system changes, however, may indicate the presence of HackTool:Win32/Fgdump on the system:

An application named "QIP 2005", installed in this directory:

%windir%\system32\mmá.exe (or mmß.exe)

These files will also appear on a system infected with HackTool:Win32/Fgdump:
