Worm.Renocide

Worm.Renocide is a malicious computer program, which uses internet network to send copies of itself from one computer to another. This worm does not have any payload, but even so it can cause a great damage to the network, by increasing the traffic and consuming bandwidth. Worm.Renocide spreads using the vulnerabilities of operating systems. This is why you have to keep your antivirus program always up to date.

It is possible to get this worm through spam email, so you should be cautious when you open a message from an unknown sender. Do not run the files in the attachments or click on the links that are in the email message. If you visit the website, you will be exposed to worm infection.

If you think that there is something wrong with your network, you can check your Windows Task Manager to see whether you have Worm.Renocide or not. That is possible, because there are certain process files associated with the worm. For example, there is cftu.exe which is classified as cloaked malware and a worm. This process is good at resisting interrogation of security products, and it adept at concealing its presence. It also disables Windows File Protection System and sets various processes to start during the user logon.

The presence of cftu.exe in your Task Manager is the first indicator that you have Worm.Renocide in your system. It is highly recommended to scan your computer with a reliable malware detector, and then remove Worm.Renocide, before it managed to cause a greater damage to your network. Even though it does not seem dangerous, this worm can definitely be harmful beyond your expectations.
