Scanner.secure-web.infoIt has been determined that Scanner.secure-web.inf is a browser hijacking domain used by rogue antivirus program Antimalware Doctor to as part of its online promotion and marketing. There are various ways users can initially end up at Scanner.secure-web.inf, the most frequent being when the user clicks on a banner or some or other link imbedded in compromised Internet resources. If the user clicks on a Scanner.secure-web.inf banner, he will be redirected to the site with the “scan.php?campaign=mmb_179231&landid=7” extension. Once the user lands on the Scanner.secure-web.inf homepage his PC may be subject to harmful Trojan and malware infections, known to deliver the Antimalware Doctor infection to the PC. As soon as the Antimalware Doctor infection takes root on the system, the user will receive various popup messages from the rogue informing him of dramatic infections being present on the PC. Antimalware Doctor will then inform the user that the only to get rid of these supposed infections will be to visit the payment portal found on Scanner.secure-web.inf and to pay for a licensed version of Antimalware Doctor. Users are strongly urged never to pay for any Scanner.secure-web.inf or Antimalware Product, and to never disclose any billing information to Scanner.secure-web.inf as they will be exposing themselves to further victimisation.
