FindMeFreebies Toolbar

FindMeFreebies Toolbar would like to appear to be beneficial for you by advertising itself as “Your #1 source for FREE products, services and samples”; however, this is yet another attempt from Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. to make more money by publishing a new useless and potentially unreliable toolbar. Having this browser extension on your computer might mean exposure to unsafe third-party content, not to mention that it may have come on-board along with other infections. You must know the saying “when it rains, it pours.” Well, it could not be any truer when it comes to malware infections, such as this toolbar. Not knowing how to handle this situation may have its price. That is why we suggest that you remove FindMeFreebies Toolbar as soon as you can in order to nip the infection in the bud.

This unreliable toolbar is available for download at findmefreebies.com, but we do not think that too many users find it actually. It is much more likely that FindMeFreebies Toolbar enters your computer in a freeware bundle. Have you downloaded any free software recently? If so, you may have found the source of infection. We recommend that you always use official or reputable websites for your downloads and try to stay away from ones that are questionable or unfamiliar. A lot of users get confused on freeware or torrent websites and easily click on ads or links that do not actually belong to the site because they are third-party ads in disguise. The bundles that are promoted on such websites are usually packed with malware infections. Therefore, when you install the whole bundle without deselecting the unwanted components, you can put your operating system in harm’s way. Here is what you need to do if this happens. First, you should delete FindMeFreebies Toolbar, and then, run a full system scan to find out whether there are other threats.

FindMeFreebies Toolbar is supposed to be a useful extension for your browsers that provides easy-access links to websites that offer free products, downloadable books, coupons, free tickets to events, and giveaways. Who would not like that, right? Well, we definitely would not, at least not through this toolbar. Mindspark products are mostly unreliable and should not be trusted. They operate using third-party services that are not controlled by Mindspark. Here is what the EULA says about this:

You hereby acknowledge and agree that by using an MS Product you may be exposed to Content that may be offensive, indecent or objectionable in your community. You agree to accept all risks associated with the use of any Content, including any reliance on the accuracy or completeness of such Content.

You also need to know that this toolbar can collect information about your online activities and compile a profile regarding your preferences and needs. That is how it may display relevant third-party ads or links through the third-party services it applies. Once installed, this toolbar sets Ask.com as your home page and search engine with your knowledge – at least, if you are attentive enough and notice the designated checkboxes. If you use the search tool offered by this toolbar, it is possible that you will be presented with a modified search results page that may include some targeted links. However, there is no warranty that you will be redirected to a safe and trustworthy website. In order to avoid any unpleasant visits to malicious websites, we advise you to delete FindMeFreebies Toolbar as soon as possible.

If you are an inexperienced computer user and do not know how to uninstall applications or reset your browser settings, you will find our guide below the article quite useful. If you follow the steps carefully, you should be able to get rid of FindMeFreebies Toolbar in a few minutes tops. But if you want to be sure that there is no other infection on-board, you should also scan your system with an online malware scanner. It is possible that it will return with several security issues. In that case we recommend that you install a trustworthy antimalware program and eliminate all the know infections.
