Astromenda.comAstromenda.com is a search engine which can replace your home page, default search engine, and new browser tabs. Astromenda.com is promoted by Astromenda, a free browser add-on which enables you to customize your browser tabs and protects your browser settings from unauthorized changes. The browser add-on is bundled with various programs, including DealKeeper, MyPCBackup, Optimzer Pro, etc. It has been discovered that Astromenda.com is promoted by the Installcore download managers, which you can encounter at brothersoft.com. It is crucial to pay close attention to the installation process of any program so that you can prevent optional programs and unwanted changes within your browsers. We recommend that you remove Astromenda.com from the computer because this search engine is sponsored by third-parties, which means that the search engine displays their advertisements. If you have ever had to tackle a similar issue, you probably know that search engines are not associated with the websites advertised. Astromenda.com accepts no responsibility for the advertisements and sponsored links provided to you, which means that you use Astromenda.com at your own risk. As regards startup advertisements, they usually have nothing to do with your browsing interests. You may be invited to download some drivers, update your operating system, etc. It is worth noting that phishing websites are very often promoted by adware programs and search engines, and we recommend that you avoid clicking on advertisements displayed on the startup page and sponsored links provided on the search engine results page. It is also important to note that Astromenda.com redirects computer users to us.yhs4.search.yahoo.com. If you do not want to use the Yahoo! Search, you should take action to fix your browsers. Bear in mind that the search engine, as well as the browser add-on, monitors your online behavior. It records your clicks, search terms, IP address, browser settings, browser language, and some other non-personally identifiable information which could be used to for marketing and advertising. Astromenda.com is identical to search engines such as MysearchDial and SpeedDial, and we recommend that you use a reputable spyware and malware removal tool to fix your browsers. After launching the uninstaller of the browser add-on Astromenda, only the updater of the program is removed, and the browser settings remain unchanged. Below you will find our instructions which should help you uninstall Astromenda and remove Astromenda.com from the browsers, but we recommend using SpyHunter. This security tool can easily remove the Astromeda browser add-on, fix your browsers, and, most important, safeguard the system against many malicious threats. Your instructions helped me remove this Astromenda from my internet explore and google browsers
Is it now off my computer that's my concern now.
it also updates your home page settings
to change this you must
Alt+t to bring up the menu
then select internet options from the menu dropdown
then examine the edit box in the popup dialog
if this has a URL such as astromenda.com you should just delete that text
then select 'apply' button
I like setting my homepage to 'about:blank' this is the fastest way to launch IE
did NOT work...the REMOVE button is light and does not work to remove this astromenda search...windows xp..thx
Had done all that you recommended before reading your tutorial, but I still get the symptoms, I.e. Bothersome ads, new web pages openning up and new tabs that have the astromenda appearance. What do I do next?
I followed your instructions to remove a homepage and it worked like a charm Thank You! YOU GUY'S ROCK !
Instructions of how to remove (any virus) typically don't work. Why?
Hello,
The problem I've encountered is when I'm on the uninstall page it I can't find Astromenda. I even did a search for it, and nothing shows up. Are they hiding under another name? I was on their page and they do tell you again how to uninstall it but no such luck finding the program itself. I'm running Windows 8.1 on Firefox.
Thanks so much
Installed on back of adobe flash player. Your instructions worked brill thanks !!!
astromenda does not appear on the list of installed software.
This information was extremely helpful. Got rid of it. Virus installed on back of Adobe Flash update.
this software did NOT work. is still there. Windows 7; astromenda came with Firefox download.
Melanie, Mike, I found Astromenda in add/remove programs under WME-Astromenda. It was W something, I think WME. Not under Astromenda. Sadly that along with taking it out of Internet Options including Search, it stills comes up. IDK. I'm trying to get it off Google Chrome.
I've tried everything, I swear. I've run a number of security tools; I've removed history, deleted the program in control panel. I've reset the "open in new tab", and tried to delete it from the "manage search engines". The problem is, under "manage search engines" it does not give me the option to remove Astromenda, or set another as the default. It's un-editable. I need additional guidance.
After removing Astromedia from Programs-and-Features and your browsers, you MUST remove every occurrence of it from the registry using regedit or you will have it on your machine for ever!
The instructions given did not remove astromenda. Probably best to go to a computer service center.
Followed instructions for Windows 7 and it removed it from my list of programs but it is not gone! Still shows up on my home page when I click google.
everything worked, BUT i can no display the internet options, it just flashed on and off each time I select tools, internet options.
I removed astromenda from chrome, ie and firefox but am unable to remove it from the Control Panel (windows 8.1). A popup tells me to ensure no browsers are running (which i do). But astromenda reappears in Control Panel (uninstall programs) after reboot.
ok have fun
My copy arrived attached to "Filezilla Server" 0.9.47 (beta) downloaded from sourceforge.net. Despite declining the offers of this and other "value-added" programs during installation of the server application it still loaded. Uninstalled in cotrol panel/programs and features, then removed all traces from IE11 in Tools/Internet options/General Home page search url. Then remove desktop shortcut. OS is Windows 7 Pro.
I have been able to remove Astromenda's downloads from my Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Crome browsers, but have been unable to remove it from my control panel. When I try to remove it, a message reads, "..must closed browser first," even though no browsers are open. Do you know of how I can remove Astromenda from my control panel? Thank you for your help.
I have been working on it for a couple hours, I have deleted it from uninstall program, firefox, internet explorer and chrome. I just found it using regedit under the name WSE Astromenda. Just as an FYI for potential names
my PC is saying that I do not have sufficient access to uninstall WSE_Astromenda.
Can someone help, please?
Please change yahoo tobe my home page
Click tools, internet options, highlight and delete astromenda, then paste the link to the home page you wish to have INTO the blank space where Astromenda was, click "apply"...after about an hour trying to get the darn link removed from ALL places on my computer (including recycle bin and browsing history...which I didn't even KNOW it was in there)...it was hiding...I uninstalled the programs that had introduced it to my pc too...hope this helps ;)
Hello
How can I install Astromenda Search page??? where can I download installation with this search Hijacker???
This was by far the most helpful information I've gotten to remove that stinking astromenda from my computer. Thank you so much
The problem with this is that i have never been on or had astromenda.com (although "MySeachDial" is something I have seen that I have gotten rid of) and it isn't infecting my internet (other than making it run slowly) but it is something that is constantly popping up as a virus in my registry when I scan my computer. I just want this thing to stop so I can go back to using my laptop like I used too.
Thank you.
Had it before on my Pc - took ages to remove. Your info REMOVED FROM MY laptop it 1 min. Thank you, very helpful indeed as are all the other added comments.
