Superfish Window Shopper

According to superfish.com, Superfish Window Shopper is a browser add-on which helps you find relevant items online while you are browsing online shops. The add-on is available at superfish.com; unfortunately, many users complain that they have found this application unexpectedly, which means that they have probably installed a free program to which installer Superfish Window Shopper was attached.

When you browse various online stores in different countries, the browser contains a “See Similar” icon. If you click on the icon, Superfish Window Shopper displays deals or advertisments similar to the item you have searched for. It is also stated that the application works on the most popular browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome, from which you should remove the unwanted add-on.

Superfish Window Shopper can provide you with its offers while you are on Amazon, Shopzilla, PriceGrabber, Ebay, and other websites. It may also occur that you will be offered to use coupons or other services. After clicking on the offer, you will be redirected to the partner’s or the so-called advertiser’s website, which will set its cookies onto your PC.

Not surprisingly, while having or using Superfish Windows Shopper, you will be monitored. Without it, Window Shopper Beta would not be able to list various items related to your interests. What Superfish collects is non-personal information such as IP address, the URLs of the pages you visit, and any other information related to you search.

Moreover, you should keep in mind that Syperfish does not take responsibility for the third-party companies’ websites, which means that if you are redirected to a particular website and catch a computer virus there, the Privacy Policy of Superfish is no longer in effect.

Want to remove Window Shopper? You should uninstall it using the uninstall utility in Control Panel, but if you do not find the programs in the list of Add or Remove Programs, it signals that the reason of it is the interference of the partners distributing the product.

Below you will find instructions which should help you remove Superfish Window Shopper from the system and your browsers:

1. Click on Start/Windows.
2. Open Control Panel.
3. Select Uninstall a program (Windows Vista/7) or Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP).
4. Select WindowsShopper and press the Remove button, or right-click it and select Uninstall.

Please note that in addition to Superfish Window Shopper some other unwanted programs, for example, Yontoo, may be installed, so do not forget to remove them, too.

In case Windows Shopper affects your Windows 8:

1. In the Charm bar, select Settings - > Control Panel.
2. Click on Uninstall a program.
3. Select the unwanted application and remove it.

In order to remove the add-on in question from the browsers, follow these steps:

Internet Explorer:

1. Open the browser.
2. Go to Tools - > Manage Add-ons - > Enable or Disable Add-ons.
3. Select the unwanted add-on and disable it.

Mozilla Firefox:

1. Open the browser and go to Tools - > Add-ons - > Extensions.
2. Select Windows Shopper and remove it.

Google Chrome:

1. Open the browser and click on the three-bar icon.
2. Select Tools -> Extensions.
3. Select Superfish WindowShopper and click on the bin icon to remove it.

Some users cannot find this application in their extensions list, which means that a spyware removal tool should be applied. Even if you have removed the add-on, we recommend you scan the PC with SpyHunter. Its free scanner is available below, and you should use it to check what malicious files are left in the system. In case you have any questions, leave your response below in the comment box.

    Hey chapman,

If you have followed all removal guide and you still have pop-ups. I would recommend you to download SpyHunter software free scanner and run full system scan to see what leftovers you still have in your system that causes these pup-ups

I tried every recommendation a google search finds. EVERYTHING. Cannot get rid of it. Even uninstalled Chrome and removed all traces of Chrome files. Nothing gets rid of it. Other browsers don't have the problem on my PC. Just chrome. Whatever they are doing to hide themselves lately is new, nobody has figured it out yet.

I have run every AdWare program to try and get rid of Windows Shopper and I've tried to uninstall it. However, nothing has worked. When I try to uninstall it I get an error message that reads, A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. What does this mean & what do I need to do to get rid of this annoying mess?

5 days, every 'tip' on the web and I still cannot shift this b*stard. Its creators should be shot. Someone must be able to come up with a solution.......

It could be behind an extension with another name - on my pc it was Awesome New Tab.

Just disable all extensions (in Chrome: Tools - Extensions), restart Chrome and check that it is gone? Yes? Good!

Now you can start enabling the ones you trust (i.e. from Google, Skype etc.). Check again to see when the dirt comes back or settle where you are free of the "Similar Itens Shopper" or whatever your problem called itself and happy with the active extensions. Throw out the bad extension.

Additional comment: The .exe and .dll files were nowhere to find on my windows harddrive, so try my extension method instead.

I was getting this from The "Accuweather Button" Extension in Chrome. I have had this extension for a long time and only recently did the pop up issue start. I removed this extension from Chrome.

My wife was so upset after I failed in my 4 hour attemp to remove superfish she went out a bought a new computer. She couldn't stand the ads blocking part of the screen. Wish the FBI would put a stop to it. The FCC just kept forwarding me to other office.
