Wajam

Wajam is a browser add-on which enables you to find what has been shared by your friends who use Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube or other social networking websites. If your friend has not agreed to have his/her posts accessible to the Wajam application, his/her post will not be detected by this search layer:

Wajam does not share what you post on social platforms. It only lets you find content from friends who have given you access to this content.

When Wajam is installed, you will find a small toolbar above the hyperlinks. Once you sign in, you can browse through the content shared by your friends. The content associated with your friend’s account is presented in the layer above the Google search results. You can maximize the social search layer to have a closer look at the posts of your friends related to your keywords and then come back to the results provided by, for example, Google or Bing. This feature provided by the Wajam browser add-on is available on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

Some users have found that Wajam displays advertisements. It is said that you can opt-out advertisement which you can do by removing ticks from two check boxes:

Yes I support Wajam and I agree to see ads with my social recommendations!
Yes I want to see product recommendations while I shop.

You can remove the add-on from the system and the browsers by simply going to the Control Panel and uninstalling the tool with the Add or Remove Program Utility (Windows XP) or Uninstall a program (Windows Vista and Windows 7).

After having removed Wajam manually, you can scan the system with a reliable spyware scanner to learn whether the system is clean, not infected by malware that might have get into the system while browsing some unreliable sources. Hence you should use SpyHunter, which can effectively scan the system and remove unnecessary and malicious components.
